Affordable Kid’s days out – with Universal Credit


The current cost of living has put a strain on so many families. I have put together a list of more affordable days out for people who are claiming Universal Credit or other similar benefits.

Cutty Shark for 2 GBP – Usually 20 GBP, FREE entry for under 4’s.

you can purchase up to 6 tickets per household. One person per household needs to show supporting documentation. Book online only. 

Bring proof of eligibility and ID along to your visit.

Eligibility: Universal Credit, Working Tax Credit, Pension Credit, Child Tax Credit, Employment and Support Allowance, Income Support or Jobseeker’s Allowance.

London ZOO for 3 GBP – usually from 27 GBP, FREE for under 3’s 

📍London Zoo, Outer Circle, London NW1 4RY

Must be booked in advance, available for 11 am or 1 pm. For up to six people per household. Bring proof of having received a Universal Credit payment within the last month and a photographic ID. Universal Credit Tickets are limited each day, additional tickets may be released for sold-out dates closer to the day. Only full-price tickets are available to buy at the gate. 

Eligibility: Universal Credit, Working Tax Credit, Child Tax Credit, Employment and Support Allowance, Income Support or Jobseeker’s Allowance.

London Transport Museum for 1 GBP for a Year Pass! – Usually 24,50 GBP, FREE for under 18’s 

📍London Transport Museum, London WC2E 7BB

Online or in person. Each pass holder must provide individual proof of receipt of one of the named benefits, 

either printed or on an electronic device.

Eligibility: Universal Credit, Pension Credit, Working Tax Credit, Child Tax Credit, and Employment and Support Allowance.

Mudlarks in the Museum of Docklands for FREE – normally 3 GBP per person (over 9 months)

Kew Gardens for 1 GBP – usually 24 GBP/adult, 7 GBP/child, under 3’s go FREE

Book online or purchase at the gate. Proof of benefits is required at entry. Visitors may also purchase up to 4 additional tickets.
